# Bridge

*Crypto & Digital Assets — Finicade finance glossary*

A bridge moves assets between blockchains, typically locking them on one side and minting a representation on the other. Bridges hold enormous concentrated balances and have been the single most exploited component in crypto — the Ronin and Wormhole hacks alone exceeded $900m. The security of any bridged asset is the security of the bridge, not of either chain it connects.
