# CAIA

*Careers & Credentials — Finicade finance glossary*

The CAIA is the credential for alternative investments — hedge funds, private equity, real assets, structured products — over two exams. It exists because the CFA curriculum covers alternatives only lightly while allocations to them have grown substantially. It's most recognised among allocators, consultants and fund-of-funds professionals rather than in long-only asset management.
