# Financial Planning and Analysis

FP&A is the corporate function that budgets, forecasts and analyses performance to support management decisions. It's the internal counterpart to equity research: same modelling skills, but with full access to the underlying data and an obligation to explain variances rather than predict a share price. It's the standard route toward controller and CFO roles.
