# Form ADV

*Regulation & Compliance — Finicade finance glossary*

Form ADV is the registration and disclosure document every US investment adviser files, with Part 2 written in plain English for clients. It discloses fees, conflicts, disciplinary history and how the adviser is compensated. Reading a prospective adviser's ADV Part 2 before hiring them is the single highest-value fifteen minutes available to a retail investor, and almost nobody does it.

**Also known as:** ADV, adviser disclosure brochure, Part 2A
