# Investor Relations

*Careers & Credentials — Finicade finance glossary*

Investor relations manages communication between a listed company and the market — earnings calls, guidance, investor days, analyst relationships. It sits between finance and communications, and it operates under strict fair-disclosure rules that forbid selectively telling one investor something material. Guidance policy is its most consequential decision, since the numbers a company chooses to promise become the numbers it is judged against.
