Limited partners are the investors in a fund — pensions, endowments, family offices — who commit capital and have no say in individual investments.

Limited partners are the investors in a fund — pensions, endowments, family offices, funds of funds — who commit capital and have no say in individual investments. Their commitments are drawn down over years through capital calls rather than paid upfront. Their liability is limited to what they committed, which is the legal structure the entire private funds industry rests on.
