# Moneyness

*Derivatives & Options — Finicade finance glossary*

Moneyness is where an option's strike sits versus the current price — in-the-money, at-the-money or out-of-the-money.

Where an option's strike sits versus the current price: in-the-money (worth exercising now), at-the-money (right at the price) or out-of-the-money (no intrinsic value yet). It's shorthand for how much an option is really worth.
