# Property Management

*Real Estate — Finicade finance glossary*

Property management handles tenants, rent collection, maintenance and compliance on an owner's behalf, typically for 8–12% of collected rent plus a letting fee. Whether it pays depends on scale and distance: it converts a second job into an investment, and it must be modelled in NOI from the start rather than treated as optional, because self-management is unpaid labour, not a saving.
