# Seed Round

*Startups & Venture Capital — Finicade finance glossary*

A seed round funds the search for product-market fit — enough capital to build, launch and iterate for 18 to 24 months. It's usually the first priced round or a large SAFE, and the milestone it buys is evidence that customers want the product enough to pay repeatedly. Seed sizes have inflated substantially, and with them the expectations a company must clear to raise a Series A.
