Angel Investor

An angel investor is an individual putting their own money into very early companies, typically writing cheques from a few thousand to a few hundred thousand. They fill the gap before institutional venture capital arrives, valuing conviction and relationships over process. Because the failure rate at this stage is extreme, experienced angels build portfolios of twenty or more rather than backing one or two.
