Trader

A trader executes and manages positions, and the title covers several different jobs. A flow or market-making trader profits from spreads and inventory management while serving client orders; a prop trader takes directional risk with firm capital; a buy-side execution trader implements a portfolio manager's decisions at the best achievable price. Automation has shrunk all three and raised the technical bar.
