Exclusion
Also called: policy exclusions, not covered, exclusion clause
An exclusion is a loss the policy explicitly does not cover, and the exclusions page is the part of an insurance contract actually worth reading. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood and earthquake almost universally, which is why so many people discover after a flood that they were never covered. Exclusions exist for risks that are uninsurable, catastrophically correlated, or better priced separately.
