The MBA is the standard career-switching credential in finance, and for banking and consulting it functions as a structured recruiting channel more than an education. Its financial case is a genuine calculation: two years of tuition plus forgone salary against the salary uplift and access, which works clearly for a top programme and much less clearly further down the rankings.
