Economics & Finance Degree

You're taking the core modules of an economics or finance degree and want the textbook chapters as something you practise, not something you re-read the night before.

What you'll leave with: Work the standard models of each module — IS-LM, the CAPM, OLS, Nash equilibrium — rather than recite them, and see how the modules feed one another.

5 courses · 126 levels · about 25 hours · starts at beginner

The courses, in order

Nothing is locked: skip a step you already know.

  1. Stat Dojo Quant toolkit · Beginner · 26 levels · ~5 h Statistics first, because every later module assumes it: distributions, the normal curve, sampling and significance.
  2. Macro & Markets Public finance · Intermediate · 27 levels · ~5 h The intermediate macroeconomics module, following Blanchard — IS-LM, the Phillips curve, Solow growth and the open economy.
  3. Capital Quarters Corporate finance · Intermediate · 25 levels · ~5 h The corporate finance module, following Brealey, Myers & Allen — NPV, the CAPM, WACC and Modigliani–Miller.
  4. Regression Range Quant toolkit · Advanced · 24 levels · ~5 h Econometrics, following Wooldridge — OLS, omitted-variable bias, inference and time series. The module your dissertation is marked on.
  5. Game Table Quant toolkit · Advanced · 24 levels · ~5 h Strategic reasoning — equilibrium, backward induction, auctions and mechanism design. The microeconomics that turns up in every other module.

Worth adding

  • Math Masters — If it's the calculus or the matrix notation that's in the way, fix that first and every module gets easier.
  • Mind Over Markets — The behavioural finance elective, following Kahneman, Thaler and Shiller.
